Sunday we split up. Nikki remembered this hike she had done YEARS ago in Escalante and so her, Josh, Jon, mom and I decided to go on this hike. It was 3 miles one way, so we wouldn't want to bring the boys, so Jen, Ben and dad stayed back with them and went to a Wildlife Museum. The weather was pretty good, it was overcast at the start, rained on us for about 15 mins and then the sun was out for the rest. The rain helped, since this trail was 95% red sand!!
Let's just say- the whole reason for the hike, was to make it to the waterfall!! After about an hour and 20 mins of walking through sand, we were glad to see it through the trees....
The water was freezing, but we all got our feet wet and enjoyed a little lunch/snack, with this beautiful backdrop. SO worth it. Needless to say, the rest of the evening was spent, relaxing. I think we all had tired feet, sore calves and crashed pretty early.
