Ok, I'm no where near being in the league to be able to call what I did on Saturday "shreddin" but with the help of a certain someone, maybe someday I'll get to be ok at it.
Saturday, March 21st was a milestone for Jacey! It marked my first time ever being on the mountain during the winter. I've never tried skiing or snowboarding and I've lived in Utah my entire life. To say the least, I am not a winter person. I hate being cold, I hate the snow and all it entails. But when you're dating a snowboarding bum (who I have to brag a little about, has had sponsers knocking on his door) it was inevitable that he'd get me on the slopes. He waited till the weather was warm enough so that the snow was still ok but I wouldn't freeze. It was a perfect day- sunny and about 50 degrees up on the mountain!
Also I should mention that this was a birthday gift. Lamont hooked me up with all the gear (turns out his roommates girlfriend and I are the same size) But I have to say that I was very impressed that he set it all up and was very patient with me on the slopes, he even passed up every offer I gave him to go take a few runs just for him. He said he wasn't even thinking about anything but helping me get the feel for snowboarding.

Strapping in to start down the hill (bunny hill, that is)

For a first timer I actually didn't fall too much, mainly because I had him. . . .

By the end of the day- my legs were tired and I was done with pictures!
All in all, I had a good time and will for sure give it another shot - but I'm definitely a spring snowboarder/skiier. I liked that I didn't have to be too bundled. It was a perfect day- all around!
