Photos Galore

Our trip to Colorado started at 6am Saturday morning, we met at Rio Tinto Stadium, checked in and off we went. I was able to sleep for about the first 2 hours which was really nice and there were little tvs that hung from the ceilings (like in airplanes) and so we watched Hot Rod & the new Indiana Jones on the way there. We got to our hotel at about 3:15pm and were told that the bus was going to leave to go to Dicks Sporting Goods Park at 4:00-4:15 so we could meet fellow RSL fans and tailgate. Why we had to go 3 hours early was beyond me, but we didn't have our tickets to get into the game yet, otherwise Jon and I would have eaten somewhere else and taken a cab to the stadium.

Long story short - we got to the stadium and waited and waited and the people that were supposed to bring the grill to tailgate never showed up. Finally at 6:30 Jon and I just went into the stadium and ate as we continued to wait for the game to start at 7:30pm. Needless to say, the long bus ride, then all the waiting around with strangers made for a long day...
Ok picture time- This is our bus and everyone waiting to tailgate.
As we were waiting for the tailgate to start we saw another bus pull to the side of the stadium so we went to check it out - it was the team! We got to the stadium a good hour before the players. Here is Fabian Espindola and Javier Morales

The actual game was so frustrating. RSL did not play well at all, they were making lousy passes and were playing for the tie not a win, which didn't work out so well as they were scored on in the first half so we were playing catch up the rest of the game. It was a really physical game too - I really thought there was going to be some fights. But in the end we got a goal in the 89th minute and tied it up, which ultimately was all we needed to make the play-offs. YEAH!
After the game some people found out what hotel the team was staying at and we talked the bus driver into taking us there. I'm not going to lie, at first I was not excited to go, mainly because I was so tired and just wanted to crash for the night. But I am so glad we went because I got to meet tons of my favorite players and was able to get my picture taken with almost the entire starting line up:

Kyle Beckerman - fyi his hair smelled surprisingly good.
He was the nicest of the night, he was very gracious and expressed how gald he was that we made the trip to support the team.
Probably my favorite- Robbie Findley (how hot is he?!)
Goalies: Nick Rimando and Chris Seitz
Robbie Russell
Javier Morales
also really friendly, he chatted with us about the play-off game Saturday
Jamison Olave
really nice too, he was on the phone and got off to take the picture
Group shot of Coach Kreis, Dema Kovalenko, Tony Beltran, Chris Seitz celebrating with some brews
Jon and Kenny Deuchar
Ian Joy
Yura Movsysian who scored the goal in the game
The bus ride home seemed like forever, we watched Iron Man, Victory and Airplane, but it still was the longest 9 hours of my life.
It was such a long weekend with a lot of sitting around and trying to entertain ourselves but the tie and meeting the players made the whole thing worth it!!
