Old Towne

So last Wednesday the fun started! We got a great wake up call from Keegan who came running in around 7:30am saying, "Jon, Jace, I'm awake- you wake up too." It was cute. Since Josh had worked the night before (7pm-7am) we decided that we'd get out of the house early so Josh could sleep in peace. So Nikki took us to Old Towne Albuquerque.
Old Towne had quaint little shops with local crafts, jewelry, clothes, etc. The highlight of walking through all the shops was going into The Candy Lady, which is a candy/choc. store almost similar to a Rocky Mtn. Choc. Co. But the funny part was that this shop has a little 'over 18' section! They sold some pretty funny things (I hope nobody will be offended by me describing some) like pasta and mints in the shape of male and female anatomy, ceramic mugs that were shaped as breasts or on others the handle was a penis, and the most interesting was all the chocolate in the shapes of the human body (use your imagination). I was so tempted to buy something as a joke for someone- but could not bring myself to pay nearly $23 for a chunk of chocolate, regardless what it was shaped as.
After Old Towne we drove up to see the New Mexico Temple. Still not huge but bigger than Monticello for sure!

Keegan loved the fountain and thought I should take a picture of the beautiful flowers.

The rest of the day we stayed low key- we went to Trader Joes, and went to a place for lunch, Twisters Burgers & Burritos, were you can get your burrito "twister style" which is where they top your burrito with fries and your sauce of choice. I was really skeptical at first, but I've got to say that it was really yummy. Next up - the zoo. . . . . .

It made me laugh that in one sentance you are talking about Adult only sections in a candy store and in the next you are talking abou the Temple. Maybe for your birthday next year I will special order something for you. LOL
