RIO GRANDE ZOO

Sorry for the delay in my recap of my trip to Albuquerque, my home computer has been having major issues uploading the pictures onto blogger; anyway, let's continue on to our visit to the Rio Grande Zoo. This was such a fun day! I haven't been to zoo since I was a little kid- so years! And this zoo had just about everything!
Check out these critters- this was one of the first areas to view when we got into the zoo- I thought is was a poor choice to start off the day. Look how nasty they are, don't they look like gigantic mice/rats(minus a tail)/rodents?! Gross.
Next stop was much better: polar bears
We stayed and just looked at these guys for quite a few minutes. I kept hoping one would jump into the water.

I really enjoyed watching the tigers too.

Just down from the tiger exibit they had a couple of workers bring out 2 alpacas for people to see up close.

This giraffe was only 1 week (maybe 1 month, cannot remember right now- check Nikki's blog)
So cute though.

You could feed the giraffe's here - we didn't, but you could.

They had a little entertainment/park area for kids and they had this grid you could walk over that shot up water randomly in different spots. It was so funny to watch Keegan run around trying to get hit by the water. We finally convinced him to just stay in one spot and finally he got hit.

Getting soaked!
Having so much fun!! He was drenched in no time.

Kangaroo

I don't know why, but I've always liked koala bears- so pretty.
The elephants weren't out, so that was a little disappointing and we could only see the rhinos' back side but got to see so many fun animals. They even had camals that you could ride. We tried convincing Keegan to ride one with me but he wasn't liking that idea.

Hey jace, are you mocking the flip flops?? I had decided to do a little photo shoot (new photos to come) and we just used the flip flops because they were easy to get off. I actually had him stand barefoot. And as for the sweater, he got it for his B-day to use for 3 yr pics but with everything that went on for us around that time I didn't get them done. So there you go.....I don't usually have him wear flops with long pants.
